Business Catering Excellent Food equals Excellent Business

If you’re planning a business meeting you know that food is important. But you should not have to worry about it.

You’ve got your clients and co-workers to worry about.

Your presentation.

An agenda to run.

And countless other things to focus on.

But what about the food?

A meeting that will last a while and run through lunch or go late in the day will absolutely need some food.

But not just any food.

Excellent food.

When you take the time to find excellent quality food it shows that details matter to you.

Having the right catering service for your business event will help.

It’s a fact that your business associates will think highly of you when they are thrilled with the food you provided.

You get all the credit. You made it happen.

When the meal is served and everyone is silent for a few minutes enjoying their meal, you know you have a winner.

Site Visits are Key to Event Planning

Picture this…

You’ve been planning the event for months. You’ve had a couple chats with the onsite contact and everything is falling into place. You let the caterer know they will have full access to the kitchen and the rental company is bringing tables and chairs for your 100 guests. Very exciting!

Then… the day of the event comes.

You are onsite, vendors begin to arrive and your guests won’t be far behind. You notice something is off! You discover there is no kitchen and the function room is half the size.

Oh No! Now What?

All of this could have been prevented with a simple site visit. Site visits are a chance for you to check out the venue in advance. You can not expect to plan an event in a location without spending time at that location.

Countless times we’ve done site visits only to discover problems we were previously unaware of. The flip side is that you’ll also see opportunities and possibilities you won’t see until you have seen the site for yourself.

Planning where you’re going to locate things for your event is made much easier when you’re very familiar with the location. The best way to achieve that level of familiarity? Yup, you guessed it. Site visits.

Your caterer, planner and other vendors can do site visits to make sure everything is ready to go. A good indicator that you are working with dedicated professional vendors is they will ask the types of questions you can only answer by visiting the venue. There is no sense in spending the extra money to add string lights to your tent only to find out there is no power source nearby.

No surprises = A Successful Event

Restaurant-Quality Catering

When you’re looking for a good catering service to cater your next event you might be on Google searching for “Restaurant Catering.”

It’s important to know the difference between looking for restaurant-quality catering and a restaurant that offers catering.

Catering companies only dedicated to catering do not operate full-service / sit-down restaurants.  Catering services exclusively doing with catering only cater.

A restaurant might still be a good option, you’ll just have to do your homework.

Other things to consider…

Are you looking for the catering company to also provide the space for your event? This is certainly a benefit if a restaurant can be the right fit for your event.

Most catering is brought onsite by the caterer, so you have flexibility in choosing your venue.

At Twelve 31 Events we are not a restaurant but our food is certainly restaurant-quality.

Our tasting room fits up to 30 for a reception-style event and 20 for a plated meal.

If you found us searching “Restaurant-Catering,” know that we will deliver the quality and the taste that will exceed your expectations, we just choose not to be in the “restaurant business.”

Don’t Ruin Your Red Bottoms – 4 Tips

“These expensive, these is red bottoms.”

-Cardi B.

You’d be amazed how often this is overlooked.

After being in the wedding and event business for almost 20 years now, I can tell you this happens a lot if your planner is not on his/her game.

The season is here…

Outdoor Events and Outdoor Weddings!

There’s grass, lawns and maybe sand!

You realize you forgot to tell your female guests about this little detail.

Perhaps you just assumed they knew.

Guess what? They didn’t think of it either.

Now they’re tip toeing around, they’re taking their shoes off, they’re walking around barefoot and the choice of wrong heels are digging in the grass.

Don’t laugh! You need to prepare your guests for the “terrain.”

The solution…

  1. Of course have a planner who points out this important detail.

  2. Specify in your invitation that your wedding will be outside.

  3. Post tips like this on your wedding website.

  4. If your guest list is on the smaller side you can even spread the word by emailing or texting your guests directly.

OK… now you know. Prepare your guests!

What You Should Know About Fast Casual Catering

A few years back “Fast Casual” Restaurant Chains started to feel the increase in competition by “Quick Serve” restaurants that were stepping up their game and eating their lunch.

So.

Many of these chains decided to add the profit center of catering.

The “corporate people” of these companies saw catering as a way to make more money.

What most of these fast-casuals were never able to grasp are all of the attention to detail and planning aspects of catering.

That’s why smaller catering companies like Twelve 31 continue to be the preferred choice.

We started with Catering. We did not get into it because our business was in trouble.

Planning Events is what we live and breathe… and eat!

The next time it seems easier to call one of the big chains for your catering needs, just remember, they did not start there, they jumped on the bandwagon to make their shareholders happy.

We cater to make you happy!

Beyond Catering

At Twelve 31 our primary focus is on catering and helping clients create amazing and memorable events.

But because we love food so much we’re not stopping there.

People and Families are busier than ever.

We know we can help.

That’s why we’ll be offering a variety of “grab and go” and takeout options.

Many selections on our current menu will be available.

As we get our kitchen and catering space up and running we’re going to produce another menu. This menu will have our pick up options you can enjoy at home on a busy week or just when you feel like you deserve it.

Stay tuned!
